The large ‚Climate Eel (Klima Aal)’ project is a 3,5 m large bronze sculpture, standing in the environmental art sculpture garden of Bad Honnef (Germany). It focuses on one of the many endangered species and makes it the protagonist: the eel. The European eel (Anguilla anguilla) is not only an important animal in the Rhine’s natural and cultural landscape, and the story of an eel is perfectly mirroring global and local environmental conditions.

Markus Jeschaunig got awarded with the „Environment and Art Award 2024“, selected by a expert Jury to realise a sculpture in the environment and art sculpture park at the Rhein Island Insel Grafenwerth in Bad Honnef / NRW (DE).
