Moss Helmet (Mooshelm)
2024

The installation “Moss Helmet” is a new a new work by artist Markus Jeschaunig, developed for the exhibition „Into The Woods” at the KunstHausWien (AT). The installation constructed in the form of a helmet-like walk-in shell invites you to experience a micro-forest in a minimal space in the city. A micro-forest vegetation of mosses and ferns forms a screen at head height when you enter. It stimulates the bodies senses and organs with the smell of the forest and fresh oxygen. The installation offers a “portable forest”, a permanent cooling solution for take away into the endless urban heat island of an overheated city in summer.
